Spicy Honey Garlic Shrimp

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha (or more to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Equipment:

  • Large skillet or wok
  • Bowl

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, Sriracha, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque, about 3 minutes.
  4. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the shrimp and cook until the sauce has thickened and coats the shrimp, about 2 minutes.
  5. Serve immediately, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Tips:

  • For a spicier dish, add more Sriracha or red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Serve the shrimp over rice, noodles, or salad for a complete meal.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated gently over low heat.
