Zesty Sausage & Cheese Poppers

These savory, cheesy, and slightly spicy poppers are the perfect appetizer for parties, game nights, or any occasion! Made with sausage, Rotel, cream cheese, and cheddar, they’re packed with bold flavor and easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 1 (10 oz) can Rotel (drained well)
  • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 ½ cups baking mix (Bisquick or similar)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions:

1️⃣ Preheat & Prepare

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2️⃣ Mix the Filling

  • In a large bowl, combine cooked and crumbled sausage, drained Rotel, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and seasonings. Mix well.

3️⃣ Add the Baking Mix

  • Gradually add Bisquick (or your preferred baking mix) and stir until fully combined. The mixture should be thick and slightly sticky.

4️⃣ Form the Poppers

  • Roll into 1-inch balls and place them on the baking sheet.

5️⃣ Bake to Perfection

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.

6️⃣ Serve & Enjoy!

  • Let them cool slightly before serving.
  • Serve with ranch, honey mustard, or a spicy dipping sauce!
