Old-Fashioned Apple Dumplings

Ingredients:

For the Dumplings:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup cold milk
  • 6 medium apples (such as Honeycrisp, Braeburn, or Granny Smith), peeled and cored

For the Sauce:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 9×13 inch baking dish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dumpling Dough:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
