A warm, buttery dessert with juicy peaches and a golden, crisp topping. This Southern-inspired treat is perfect with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
Ingredients:
For the Peach Filling:
- 5-6 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced (or 2 cans of sliced peaches, drained)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar

- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
For the Topping:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Peach Filling
- Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix the peaches, sugars, lemon juice, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch. Stir until peaches are well coated.
- Pour the peach mixture into the baking dish and spread evenly.
Step 2: Make the Topping
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth.
- Pour in the melted butter and stir gently.
Step 3: Assemble & Bake
- Pour the batter evenly over the peaches—don’t stir! The batter will rise through the fruit as it bakes.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
Step 4: Serve & Enjoy!
- Let cool slightly before serving.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
Tips & Variations:

🍓 Mix it up: Add fresh berries for a fruity twist!
🍦 Make it richer: Swap milk for half-and-half or heavy cream for a creamier topping.
